The Macau trip

The trip to Macau, to be honest, wasn't that interesting. I enjoyed being on plane, though the waiting part sucks, for our departing plane was delayed for more than one hour due to "operating problems". But thank God that our plane back was smooth and not delayed. By the time we finished our four days and three nights trip, we were all dead tired from the travelling and sorts.

The first day was spent mostly inside hotel room, as we were all tired from travelling. My first thought when we first arrived in Macau was that this place doesn't look interesting, and going through Macau definitely proved that it isn't a fun place unless you are there to gamble.

We went around the quiet town to a few places that are supposed to be "tourists attraction", but like I said, Macau's a boring place. The places that we visited were mostly historical sites, and we tried to make the best of it by randomly taking pictures. We visited the place where the Portuguese first landed in Macau and the temples there, and also St. Paul's ruin. I don't remember what the tour guide said about the history of those places, mostly because I was distracted by her accent.

The food there wasn't that great either. We went to Chinese and Portuguese restaurants. The Chinese food there was weird, I don't know if it's because we visited the wrong restaurants, but the food there definitely didn't taste very good. The Portuguese food was okay, but not something that will leave you craving for it for some time. Oh... the food there are expensive. Like really. We went to a food court in a shopping mall and one plate of chicken rice costed 39 bucks. That's almost 20 bucks in Malaysia Ringgit. Definitely way expensive for something that's not good.

In conclusion, the trip was not terribly boring, but also not very exciting. I enjoyed seeing the place, but it's not where I will visit again should I want to go for a holiday. Other than casinos, there are really nothing much to see. The shopping malls are lame and the food don't taste very good, and the local people know no manners at all. Seriously.

Prince Caspian

Dear Prince Caspian,
I think you are very handsome in the tall and dark kind of way, and you definitely owned the show (duh! the movie IS about you anyways), but unfortunately, I'm still in love with Aslan instead of you.

So... I went and watched the second Narnia movie, and surprisingly, it was good. After the first movie, which I have conveniently forgot the story other than my beloved Aslan and polar bears fighting, I wasn't really looking forward to the second movie. And like I said, Ben Barnes isn't exactly my type of guy, though he did look really good in the movie, to make me interested in watching.

However, due to boredom, I have decided to go and watch the movie with my bestie the moment it hit cinema, which is today. In case you want to know, playing driver isn't very fun especially when you can't speed on the congested roads and blast the radio loud enough (my bro always turn down my radio volume when he's in the car).

The storyline is, ya know, evil whoever wants to steal the throne, tries to kill the heir, the heir runs away, plots to retaliate, fight happens, in the end the good wins and the bad dies. Yada yada yada. The scenery is beautiful, as was in the first movie. The fighting scenes are good too, oh, and funny. Love the rats, they are just so funny and adorable.

Like I said, I don't remember much about the first movie, but the couple sitting beside me definitely did! They were discussing bits of the first movie and relate them to the second movie while the show was playing. It wasn't annoying actually, but the thing is, they are this old couple, as in around late forties or early fifties, the age. Since Joy and I couldn't remember enough to save our life, it is kinda a bit weird to have this old couple having better memory than us. After all, we all know that our memory starts to fail as we grow older.

The only complain that I have for this movie will be I wish Aslan has more on screen time. Why do they make the lion looks so "yeng" yet refused to let him on screen for more time is beyond me. Hmm... but other than that, it's a worthy watch.

Sleepless-ness and ramblings

I couldn't sleep last night! Sheesh... I was up half the night, in the half awake half asleep state. Sucks, I tell you. It was more tiring than being fully awake.

I'm not sure if I am tired now, but I do feel as though I have some empty space in my skull where my brain should have been. No, it's not as gross as it sounds though.

On the other hand, I probably need to stop reading and watching stuff that put ideas into my head that freak me out in the middle of the night. Since I couldn't sleep last night, it was safe to say that my brain decided to do some exercise, by feeding me with all those thoughts that freak me out. Lucky my dogs didn't start howling, or else I probably won't be able to sleep at all.

Life has been good since I came back to BP, even if it's only been two days. The uneventful bus trip, I swear, I'm never ever going to take Hasry Express again, no matter how desperate I am. Imagine having no air con for the whole four and a half hour journey. I was sweating as though I was in a sauna, and seriously, I have always thought that my sweat glands are pretty passive.

Ah... not sure if I should go back to sleep again, but my eyes feel dry from the lack of sleep. Sadness.... Sigh...
