So, since today is a public holiday, and since I'm me, of course I went out. Today's destination was 1 Utama with my friends Sal and Boo Boo. The morning started off with, of course, McD breakfast, which was followed by a movie.
We wanted to watch Sweeney Todd when we found out that it is already in cinema, but I guess that will have to wait. So following through the initial plan, we watched Gabriel. I wanted to put a picture of the movie here, but apparently I couldn't find one. So there.
The movie started off pretty decent, despite a friend telling me that it sucks. But I can understand why some people think that it sucks. The storyline was okay, but the fighting scenes are horrible. Amusing even. The first fight, if I am not mistaken, looked as the two people are dancing instead of fighting. It looked too graceful, and well, people just don't fight like they are dancing. And the final fight, yeah well, it IS the final fight, after all. It's just so lame that I actually find it funny to watch them fight. How lame is that?
The ending was, I supposed, acceptable. At least it didn't have the "And they live happily ever after" ending, which is so cliche. What I don't understand is why suddenly out of nowhere the director had to inject a sex scene. Honestly, I know supposedly we all love romance and sex and yada yada yada, but the sex scene seriously made me think that the movie isn't as good as it's supposed to be. Instead of making the movie more interesting, it's BORING. I just don't see the connection between the scene before the sex scene and whatever that eventually leads to sex.
All and all, it wasn't such a bad movie, but certainly not worth the 10 bucks that I paid. If only it's the usual student price.
After the movie, we walked around searching for food. We wanted to get doughnuts, but there was a long like. Eventually, we settled down at a place called Bar.B.Q. Plaza. It was some sort of bbq and steamboat place. It was fun eating there, and the food's good too. We went grocery shopping next, and soon we headed back.
With a new belt and a new nailpolish colour!

Riddles and classes
Today has been a fun day at uni. Class started at 9.30 in the morning with Intro to English Lit, which, despite feeling sleepy, I still managed to enjoy the class. The lecturer gave a passage by E.M. Forster. The passage is interesting to analyse. But I guess the highlight of the class will be when nearing the end, the lecturer gave us some riddles to solve. Some of them were quite silly and amusing, while some are just plain obvious. My favourite out of the rest is this:
Why was Karl Marx buried at Highgate Cemetery in London?
Go figure.
After Eng Lit was Grammar, which was fun too because the lecturer asked us to talk about out experience while working during the sem break. Not everyone talked, but anything to avoid Grammar lessons has to be interesting. Before that, we were given an activity to do, which was to find people in class that have the same similarities with you. Example, who woke up at the same time this morning as you. The whole class just erupted into noise. Everyone was shouting questions out loud to the whole class, kinda like a lelong, and the lecturer just sat there and watched us. When we were done, she declared that we are the noisiest class she has. Seems like we are always the noisiest class that a lecturer has.
Class after lunch was Journalism, and though I'm supposed to like the subject, I couldn't help feeling sleepy. Could be the lunch, cause I always feel sleepy after lunch, or it could be because we are learning stuff that we have learnt before. We haven't really gotten down to the writing part, but we already have an assignment due next week. Oh, not to mention that the lecturer dropped the bombshell about pop quiz that she will give any time. And the pop quiz is supposed to test us on our general knowledge. Joy, I'm sure I will do badly. Reading newspaper is kind of a depressing job for me.
Overall, today has been a fun day. At least I wasn't bored outta my mind for all three classes.

The restless-ness
I'm feeling restless and annoyed, and a little unhealthy. Probably should have eaten something closer to a balanced meal for the past week's meals, but unfortunately I'm NOT capable of eating healthly.
Yesterday had been a day full of Heroes. Heroes marathon had somehow left me a lil restless, that awful cliffhanger, but by today my restless-ness reached full blast. Don't know how, don't know why.
Spent the whole Sunday just lazing around, refusing to touch any of my homework or assignment, even though I'm not supposed to be procastinating. I survived Friday in one piece. Surprisingly, the lectures were not boring, which I prayed to God to stay that way.
This sem, I have a feeling, will be much more fun than last sem, though a whole lot more hectic and busy and tough. Thinking about the many assignments and presentations is enough to make me feel like puking. And sadly, I think my grades might drop this sem despite the more fun subjects I have.

Year One, Sem Two
After taking a long sem break that killed almost 80 percent of my braincells, the new sem is finally starting. Honestly speaking, I was looking forward to starting a new sem, because working is a drag, and having nothing to do is going to be the death of me if that's for permanent basis. So, despite all the boredom that I might suffer from studying, I rather be studying than not studying.
So far, I have only attended three lectures. I'm looking forward to some of the subjects in this sem, such as Journalism 1 and also Intro to English Literature. Hopefully, the lecturers are interesting enough to not kill my interest in both subjects.
Semantics was okay. Still hovering between might-be interesting or painfully dull. Another lecture by Dr. Teh and the subject will be taken over by another lecturer who is a Japanese. I hope she gives interesting lectures.
Intro to English Literature looks promising. The lecturer seems good enough, and the only thing that I'm a teensy bit dissatisfied is that the course seems so shallow compared to what I first thought of. From what the lecturer said during the first lecture, a lot of stuff will just be touch and go. We won't go very deep into the subject, which I think is too bad since I really think I can enjoy this subject very much.
Grammar is as dull as one can expect. I find it entertaining to try not to come up with excuses to skip class, even though that is not an appropriate thing to think about when the lecturer is giving the lecture. But Grammar is Grammar. Something about it just makes my brain shuts down and refuses to accept whatever that comes out of the lecturer's mouth.
Since tomorrow is a public holiday, there will be replacement class on Friday, which means three lectures in a day. Joy. I hope I can survive through the day.
